Haven’t read The Sugar Queen? You can find it on Amazon.
My former American self would love all of this stuff. I haven’t had a moon pie in decades. I can still hear that woman in Knoxville , Tennessee, say, “Ya’ll want a moon pie (pah) an a dope (soft drink)?” 🙂
That’s hilarious, I don’t think I’ve ever heard it called dope before!
I love this book, it’s real world with some surreal. You’ve inspired me to read it again. I don’t know if you know but in her official website under each book’s page she’ll sometimes include recipes of food mentioned in the book.
Thanks for letting me know Candina, will have to check it out!
