Party Like A Mad Man Appetizers
I’m an unaware cookbook collector. I say unaware because I didn’t realise until I was finally able to organise them in one room… And as I lovingly placed each one up on the shelves, I realised there was a little issue. I’ve barely cooked with any of them!
So when Judy from The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook contacted me asking if I’d join in with other bloggers as part of the Mad Men Virtual Party, I was quick to say yes. While I create food based from books, I decided to take this chance to use the cookbook. Because yes, lo and behold, it was there on my shelf, purchased when they first published it in 2011.

Notes
recipe followed from The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook as part of the Virtual Mad Men Finale Party.
I was pretty hooked on Mad Men when it first came out. Remember how they had all the fashion lines as well? I was in love with those. I even bought a boyfriend at the time a 50’s style bar cart for his apartment so he could pour a whiskey after work. I spend months researching and scouring the internet to find the right one. He was one of those people where you’re certain they’re living in the wrong era.

Making these recipes I made a note to myself, that the next time I throw a cocktail party, to cook 1950’s style. The recipes are so easy, and would save me a lot of time in the kitchen! I whipped together three of the recipes for the party–two canapés, mushroom as well as parmesan, and a Bloody Mary. Being Canadian, I’m partial to the Caesar, however, being in Australia (with a lack of Clamato), I happily sip Bloody Mary’s while I wait until the next trip back home.
