Harry Potter Series | Treacle Tart
  • premade uncooked shortcrust pie crust + an extra sheet of shortcrust pastry
  • 1 cup golden syrup
  • grated zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 2¼ cups fine fresh breadcrumbs
  1. Preheat oven to 395F/190C.
  2. In a medium saucepan, warm up the golden syrup until it's runny.
  3. Add the bread crumbs, lemon zest and lemon juice, and stir it all together.
  4. Pour it into the pie crust.
  5. Cut the dough into long strips for the lattice top.
  6. Place onto the top of the pie and cut the excess off.
  7. Bake for 35 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
