Kreacher’s French Onion Soup recipe | Harry Potter

With winter closing in, the hearty UK food is coming in handy. And where better to get English food inspiration than Harry Potter. For those of you who are only familiar with Kreacher from the film, Kreacher turns around in the book, starts cooking some excellent meals and in the end, is the one who leads the house-elves in the battle at Hogwarts.

Cosy up this winter with a bowl of freshly made French Onion soup, courtesy of Kreacher from Harry Potter.

One meal that Kreacher serves Harry, Hermione and Ron, is French Onion Soup. From what I can tell, what differentiates French Onion Soup from just onion soup, are two points.

  • It uses a meat based stock
  • Commonly served with melted cheese croutons (these croutons seem to be all baguette slice sized)
